Michael W. Nimmich, D.M.D, M.S., P.A.

Dr. Michael W. Nimmich and his team at Nimmich Endodontics have been a driving force for excellence in the Sumter region of South Carolina, specializing in Root Canals, Endodontic Retreatment and Apicoectomy

Michael W. Nimmich graduated from The Citadel. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1984 from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Nimmich practiced general/restorative dentistry for twelve years in his hometown of Summerville, South Carolina. He was a part-time clinical instructor at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in the Department of Oral Diagnosis. He received his Master of Science degree in Endodontics in 1998 from West Virginia University.

Dr. Nimmich is a member of the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association and the American Association of Endodontists.  He is a past president of the Southern Endodontic Study Group, the South Carolina Endodontic Association, and the alumni association of the dental college at MUSC. He is on the volunteer faculty at MUSC in the Department of Endodontics.  Michael currently is in private practice in Sumter, S.C. and is married to Barbara. They have two sons, Mitchell and Matthew and two grandchildren.  

Dr. Bruno John Walkowiak D.M.D, M.S., P.A.

Dr. Bruno and the team at Nimmich Endodontics have been a a trusted source for expert care and experience in the Sumter region of South Carolina, providing Root Canals, Endodontic Retreatment and Apicoectomy

Bruno John Walkowiak was born and raised in the small, rural town of Shickshinny, Pennsylvania. He attended a local university, King’s College, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.  

Upon graduation, he left home to attend the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated as Valedictorian of his Class. Upon graduation, Bruno worked in private practice in New Castle, Pennsylvania for one year before attending the Endodontics residency at the University of Pittsburgh. There he served as the Chief resident until graduating in 2025.  

In his free time, Bruno enjoys spending time with his two dogs, Chilly and Duck. He also loves playing golf at the beautiful local courses and shooting around 70 in his rounds (On the front 9). He is also an avid fisherman (and is willing to trade work for information on your secret spots)!  

Bruno looks forward to living in the Sumter community and serving its hard-working population in the town and surrounding areas, as well as its excellent dentists.
